Weekend B.O. Sept. 5-7 (A New Low)

Weekend B.O. Sept. 5-7 (A New Low)

The first
weekend of September is typically dullville, since it’s always the lowest grossing week of
the year. With the exception of a few independent film releases, no major films
are ever released at this time of year, unless there’s
some loser film that a studio wants to quietly bury.

So this
weekend is pretty much a broken record, repeating last week’s report: “Guardians
of the Galaxy” was, once again, the No.1 film, and this summer’s box office totals
were, overall, the lowest in 8 years.

So instead
of me just blabbing on about what I’ve said before, let’s just go straight to
the box office results for this weekend.

It’ll be
more interesting in a few weeks
