"Burma VJ" Director Anders Østergaard's new film "1989" Premieres Simultaneously across Europe

Danish filmmaker Anders Østergaard, director of the Oscar-nominated doc “Burma VJ,” will world premiere his latest film “1989,” at the opening night of CPH: DOX, and simultaneously throughout the country and in 15 different theatres all over Europe. Vimeo has the trailer here.
Called a political drama in a festival press release, “1989” is a chronicle of the fall of the Iron Curtain, beginning with the decision of Hungarian Prime Minster Miklós Németh’s decision to abandon Hungary’s extensive and costly border and reopen the gates to the West permanently.
The documentary combines a mix of interviews, archival material and reconstructed scenes and dialogues that are lip-synched with the actual archived footage from the real-life political protagonists.
