Weeks before we find out if the Academy will give Best Actress to Julianne Moore, the Museum of the Moving Image will honor her eclectic career.

On January 20 in New York, the museum will hold its 29th annual Salute, which will be dedicated to the actress. The announcement was made today by Herbert S. Schlosser and Ivan Lustig, Co-Chairmen of the Museum’s Board of Trustees.
Past honorees include gigantic names in the film world: Tom Cruise, Clint Eastwood, Robert DeNiro, Goldie Hawn, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks, Hugh Jackman, Steve Martin, Al Pacino, Sidney Poitier, Julia Roberts, Martin Scorsese, Kevin Spacey, Steven Spielberg and Jimmy Stewart.
“With her unforgettable performances in ‘Still Alice’ and ‘Maps to the Stars,’ and her upcoming role in ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay,’ this is Julianne Moore’s year,” said Chairman Schlosser. “She is one of the most accomplished and talented actors working today and we are thrilled to be honoring her at our annual Salute. She is a fearless and versatile performer who has created so many powerful performances in film and television.”
