Urbance

Tweetable Logline: The gender war starts now!

Elevator Pitch: “Urbance”

is an animated series with Transmedia developments. The story is set in a dystopian future where a deadly virus prohibits sex, forcing genders to divide into rival gangs. The series is described as a mashup between “Tron,” “Jet Set Radio” and “The Warriors”–mixing urban, hip hop and electro influences.

Production Team:
Joel Dos Reis Viegas – Director / Creator
Sébastien Larroudé – Producer / Creator
Denis Friedman – Producer
Florent Auguy – Concept Artist
Nicolas Ferrand – Concept Designer
Domenico La Porta – Transmedia Architect
Marcin J. Sobczak – Community Manager

About the film: Joel: “Urbance” is a travel back to my roots, literally. I did study animation 13 years ago at Les Gobelins in Paris, and I have always been influenced by hip hop culture. The blend of both came naturally. Story-wise, I was simply driven by the life style in North America. I observed people, the way they look self sufficient sometimes. I exaggerated it to imagine a dystopian world when men and women are fighting.
