Radius has picked up “Heaven Knows What” ahead of its October 2 New York Film Festival debut.
The film, directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, tells the story of a young heroin addict who finds love in New York City. A combination of fiction, formalism and raw documentary are used in the film to bring out the plot. The film is based on a soon to be published memoir: “Mad Love In The City,” by Arielle Holmes, who stars in the film as the young addict. Co-stars include Caleb Landry Jones, Buddy Duress and rap artist Necro.
“Heaven Knows What” is a benchmark in American cinema,” said RADiUS co-presidents Tom Quinn and Jason Janego. “We were completely entranced with the story and mesmerized by the characters. Josh and Benny have made a complex, sophisticated, mind blowing film that we feel privileged to bring to audiences.”
The film is set for release in 2015.
