The shows we loved growing up never really leave us, no matter how unkind the passing of years has been to the fashions and music choices. Television, after all, has a magical way of serving as a time capsule for childhood.
So one morning, you might get an email from a friend or family member or co-worker, squealing with excitement over the fact that the classic Canadian-produced Nickelodeon series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” is currently streaming on YouTube (and in fact has been online since 2013, thanks to the channel GhostlyTalesTV).
Perhaps you remember watching the spooky anthology series when it originally ran during the 1990s, and perhaps rewatching it that will lead you down a path to your own youth, when denim-on-denim was an acceptable life choice, and PG-rated scares could still stick with you.
Thanks GhostlyTalesTV, and modern technology. You’ve added a special twist of nostalgia to this Halloween season.
