Winner of the Un Certain Regard jury prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, “Force Majeure” chronicles the story of a family struggling to deal with the emotional aftermath of having almost been killed by an avalanche while on a ski vacation in the Alps.
In this first clip from the film, we are thrown right in the middle of the main conflict — which stems from the fact that at the beginning of the film, when the avalanche occurred, husband/father Tomas fled at the first sight of danger instead of trying to protect his wife and two children.
You can catch the clip in its entirety below, and catch “Force Majeure” in select theaters beginning October 24.
