“Camp X-Ray” star Kristen Stewart and the film’s writer-director, Peter Sattler, visited the Soho Apple Store last week to chat with fans about their new film, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year and will open in theaters at the end of this week.
The film centers on Private First Class Amy Cole, a prison guard at Guantanamo Bay who, over time, ends up befriending one of the detainees she has been assigned to guard.
During the conversation, which was moderated by Indiewire Managing Editor Nigel M. Smith, Sattler and Stewart discuss the intricacies of what some might describe as a rather unexpected creative collaboration — Sattler being a first-time director and all, while Stewart, at this point, with a robust slate of indies and blockbuster films under her belt, has risen to the ranks of what is considered a seasoned actress.
You can check out the full version of the talk below. “Camp X-Ray” opens in theaters this Friday, October 17.
