Who would have thought that Ray Liotta, a.k.a. Henry Hill in the iconic Martin Scorsese gangster drama, “Goodfellas,” would return to the gangster genre in the role of a lawman?
It’s true. In “Revenge of the Green Dragons,” Liotta plays Michael Bloom, an FBI agent tasked with busting the operations of an infamous Chinatown gang called The Green Dragons.
Executive produced by Martin Scorsese, “Revenge of the Green Dragons” takes place during the 1980s and chronicles the relationship between Sonny and Steven, two poor, immigrant brothers who join The Green Dragons as a matter of survival, only to end up turning against one another. The film is co-directed by Andrew Loo and Andrew Lau — the latter being the director of the Hong Kong thriller, “Infernal Affairs,” which, most notably, served as the inspirational text for Scorsese’s Oscar-winning film, “The Departed.”
In this exclusive clip from the film, Liotta’s Agent confronts Snakehead Mama, played by Eugenia Yuan. Snakehead Mama, as we learn in the clip, is a ruthless human trafficker who doesn’t lose sleep over her work.
“Revenge of the Green Dragons” is currently available on DirecTV. The film is receiving a limited release and opens in select theaters October 24.
