37% of Oscar-Submitted Documentaries Directed by Women

A total of 134 nonfiction films were submitted for Oscar consideration this fall, and 50 of them (or 37% of the total) boast female directors or co-directors. 

The award-hopefuls will be winnowed to a group of 15 semi-finalists next month. 

The women-directed docs are listed below:
