Idris Elba to Seduce All Your Senses With ‘Luther’-Inspired Album

Idris Elba to Seduce All Your Senses With 'Luther'-Inspired Album

British actor, rapper, DJ and music producer Idris Elba is already on his 2015 hustle, according to a statement he made about an upcoming album inspired by the return of “Luther,” the BBC serial killer drama in which he stars.
Speaking on BBC 4’s “Front Row” radio show, the actor said that he’d like to use the album to “dissect the idea of someone who has to deal with so much darkness,” later adding: “[Detectives] meet someone who’s done something heinous, but they have to have an objective perspective on them until proven. That could create some real good songs, and definitely an interesting mood, musically.”

“Luther” returns next year to BBC America as a two-part mini-series. In addition, Fox is looking at adapting the original British series, which would include Elba as an executive producer should it get picked up.

Meanwhile, Elba’s new album “Mi Mandela,” conceptualized during the filming of “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom,” is available for purchase today.
