Elevator Pitch: “7 Day Sam” is a psychological drama about a clinically depressed teenage girl named Jessica who becomes fixated with an anonymous viral video blogger calling herself ‘Sam’ who claims she will commit suicide live on the internet in seven days. Jessica relates to Sam and her struggles with depression as her own life continues to take a downward spiral during this seven day period.

About the film: The idea for “7 Day Sam” came to me after reading an article about an anonymous woman who claimed she was going to commit suicide and was documenting the last three months of her life in a public blog. Nothing ever came of her threat, but the hateful response was deeply disturbing and her blog was never reported to the authorities. I felt compelled to write a story that really challenged people to recognize the growing lack of empathy we have for one another and how the stigma of depression is capitalized upon in our society.
