Read Oscar Contender Gillian Flynn's 'Gone Girl' Screenplay Online

As studios are wont to do this time of year, 2015 Oscar-contending screenplays are being made available to read online. 20th Century Fox has now released a PDF of Gillian Flynn’s crackerjack script for "Gone Girl," a bleak and sardonic treatment of her 2012 page-turning novel.

Flynn is not only an Oscar frontrunner, but a match made in misanthropy Hell for director David Fincher, who brings her dark and outrageous tale of a troubled marriage to coolly glazed life. "Gone Girl" continues to play like gangbusters at the global box office, outpacing even new releases in its sixth week.

Slate digs into the major differences between the book and the novel here. And you can read or download Flynn’s 177-page screenplay in full, and for free, here.
