In this new featurette, the cast and crew of “A Most Violent Year” reflect on the ethical challenges facing immigrants (and mobsters) pursuing the American Dream. The behind-the-scenes video shows a pensive Oscar Isaac, Jessica Chastain and David Oyelowo open up about the film.
“It’s the wild west in New York City at this moment, there’s a lot of violence,” Oscar Isaac says of the film’s setting circa 1981. Isaac plays Abel, who runs Standard Heating Oil with his wife Anna Morales (Chastain), but struggles to protect his business during the city’s most violent year. David Oyelowo plays New York’s Assistant District Attorney. The video also features producers Anna Gerb and Neal Dodson as well as cinematographer Bradford Young.
