EVENT: “The Greatest Cartoons Ever” at The Alex Theatre

EVENT: "The Greatest Cartoons Ever" at The Alex Theatre

Unabashed plug: Next weekend I will be co-hosting a big-screen animation program at the Alex Theatre in Glendale  – The Greatest Cartoons Ever with my cohort, animation producer/director Frank Gladstone. This is the fourth time we’ve put together this event – and it’s quickly becoming a post-Christmas weekend tradition.

Watching theatrical animated short subjects on the big screen – in a classic movie palace like the Alex, with a large crowd – is perhaps the BEST way to watch them – presented the way they were meant to be seen and experienced. And in this digital age, becoming more and more a rare occurrence.

Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Droopy, Daffy Duck, Woody Woodpecker, Popeye in films by the masters of animation: Tex Avery, Max Fleischer, Chuck Jones, Shamus Culhane, Friz Freleng, Walt Disney, George Pal and others.

Frank and I will give brief introductions to the films – come on out to celebrate the golden age of animation in the best possible way. The program will run twice – at 2pm and 7pm – on Saturday December 27th at the Alex in Glendale, on Brand Blvd. For more information, click here
