Here’s your daily dose of an indie project in progress — at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.
In the meantime: Is this a project you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.
Tweetable Longline: Punk legend, Lance ‘Lint’ Jones, leaves rehab and is forced to move in with his over-bearing Jewish mother.
Elevator Pitch: The tag line says it all: “Rock in A Hard Place: Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll Couldn’t Kill Him, But His Family’s Willing to Try.”
David Fagin – Co-Creator
Stephanie Fagin – Co-Creator
Rosanna Arquette – Exec. Producer
Gil Junger – Director
About the Project: We shopped this thing around Hollywood for the past five years. At one point, Brett Ratner almost had it on Showtime.
As close as we got, no matter who was on board, all we kept hearing was, “Too edgy for network. Too much heart for cable.” That, and being “unknowns” doesn’t help much, either.
But, with a hundred new companies a week jumping into the content pool, it really doesn’t matter if it was produced by Home Box Office or Home Depot.
What matters is that it finds an online audience. From there, anything’s possible.
