SHORTS FOCUS: "Symphony no. 42"

When you
mix animation and illustration, filmmaking, 26 years, and a little country
called Hungary, into a person you get, Réka Bucsi. Her latest piece Symphony
no. 42
, which has been shortlisted for an Best Animated Short at this years
Oscars, is not only cinematically riveting but it allows for the viewer to see
another side of the human nature. 

In this teaser (below) we see
how she breaks the norms of animations and unconventionally shares that hidden
truths within our species and the natural world.  This short premiered at the 64th
Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin in Berlin, and has been traveling around
the world ever since. In fact it will be shown at the upcoming Sundance
Festival in 2015. Bucsi is currently working on her next short film at the Residency Program
of Open Workshop in Viborg, Denmark.
