The winning filmmaker will receive a digital distribution consultation from SnagFilms and will become a candidate for the December Project of the Month. That winner will be awarded with a creative consultation from the fine folks at the Tribeca Film Institute and will be in the running for Project of the Year.
The four projects up for this week’s Project of the Week are listed below (with descriptions courtesy of the filmmakers):
Give Light: Stories from Indigenous Midwives: “Give Light” is a feature-length documentary that shares the oral histories of indigenous midwives in the face of a modern medical industry.
Olancho: A tough young accordionist seeks to make a living performing for drug cartels in Honduras, the most murderous country in the world.
91%: A Film About Gun Laws in America: 91% of Americans are for comprehensive background checks. Why can’t Congress pass any meaningful legislation to ensure our public safety?
The Capitol of Nowhere: How a group of teenagers and the world’s most unlikely rock club brought more than just bands to a town looking for hope.
Voting will end Monday, December 22 at 11 a.m. EST.
