Jemaine Clement, best known for his work on HBO’s “Flight of the Concords,” makes his film directing debut with “What We Do in the Shadows,” which is basically a result of what happens when centuries-old vampires meet MTV’s “The Real World”‘s style of documentary melodrama. Except this film takes the drama and laugh-out-loud factor to a whole new level.
Written, directed and starring Clement, along with “Flight of the Concords” co-creator Taika Waititi, “What We Do in the Shadows” follows four bloodsucking, undead roommates trying to navigate the modern world. They confront technology, the local werewolf pack and pretty women to have orgies with.
Also starring Rhys Darby, Jonathan Brugh, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer, Stu Rutherford and Jackie Van Beek, “What We Do in the Shadows” hits theaters February 13, 2015.
