“It’s kind of like the horse, you know, the horse was good until we had the car,” Netflix CEO Reed Hastings recently said during a talk in Mexico (via THR). “The age of broadcast TV will probably last until 2030.” Bold words from the exec of the streaming giant, but there’s little reason to doubt his confidence. Indeed, we’re in the era of binge viewing, and being able to watch what we want, when we want, on the screen of our choice, and that’s largely due to Netflix. And as the company has moved into original content, they’ve continued to make the old model of week-by-week new episodes seem out of step. Case in point? “House Of Cards.”
Netflix’s breakout political drama has won critical acclaim across two seasons, and it’s back for a third, and the first teaser is here. Plot details on the next season, which now has Kevin Spacey‘s Frank Underwood in the White House, have been kept under wraps, but there are a couple things to remember: Pussy Riot will be making an appearance, and Tony Gilroy (“Michael Clayton,” “Duplicity“) has been added as a consultant on the show.
“House Of Cards” returns on February 27, 2015. Watch the first, super brief teaser below.
A special message from the White House.
