The Christmas season has barely began, but it’s hard not to look forward to a break from the slew of syrupy Lifetime movies and creepy cartoon specials.
Thankfully, the British sci-fi anthology series “Black Mirror” has answered our prayers, with a feature-length Christmas special set to premiere just in time for the holidays. The special stars Jon Hamm as what appears to be a new-age pick-up artist, who uses technology to aide/antagonize his clients. A press release from Channel 4 described the special as, “the most mind-bending episode yet, showcasing three interwoven stories of Yuletide techno-paranoia.”
As an anthology, “Black Mirror” falls into the same vein as “The Twilight Zone,” and often incorporates the dark side of technology into their story lines. The Christmas special “Black Mirror: White Christmas” premieres in the UK on Channel 4 on December 16. In the mean time, viewers can catch up with the first two seasons, which are now available to stream on Netflix. Watch the trailer for the special below.
