Watch: The Must-See 'SNL' Sketch on Race That Didn't Make the Cut

"Saturday Night Live" cut a clip from its December 6 episode, which James Franco hosted, about the tension on a fake St. Louis morning show "Rise and Smile," in the aftermath of the Ferguson riots. 

On-air anchors Kip and Jenny (Kenan Thompson and Cecily Strong) are on tenterhooks, trying to make sure they don’t offend — and not only is it a hoot to watch, it also proves to be a timely and entertaining clip about the apologies and awkwardness that ensue, when a tough issue like race dominates the news agenda. Watch the cut sketch below.
