Just like “Jarhead 2: Field Of Fire,” we’re not sure why these decisions are made, or by whom, but for some reason, Universal has decided it’s in their best interest to make a sequel to “The Man With The Iron Fists.” The much hyped martial arts flick, directed by genre enthusiast and Wu-Tang Clan member RZA, was a resounding disappointment and box office failure, but at the very least, this followup includes his involvement.
Titled “The Man With The Iron Fists: Sting Of The Scorpion,” Roel Reiné — a specialist at this sort of thing with “The Marine 2,” “Death Race 3: Inferno,” and “The Scorpion King 3: Battle For Redemption” among his credits — directs the movie co-written by RZA and John Jarrell (“Romeo Must Die“) that seems to involve more gangs fighting each other. There are no actual plot details, which hardly matters, since the first movie barely made any sense anyway, and found any attempts at delving into the story grinding everything to a halt. So if this movie were wise, it would just be non-stop action.
Anyway, it’s going straight to video stateside, though there’s no date yet. Watch below. [Film Divider]
