HBO Renews ‘Girls’ for Fifth Season

HBO Renews 'Girls' for Fifth Season

In a promising sign for Girls‘ fourth year (which starts this Sunday), HBO has renewed Lena Dunham’s show for a fifth round a week ahead of its season premiere.

The first few episodes of Girls will find Hannah (Dunham) attending the University of Iowa’s famed writing workshop, while her friends struggle (as ever) to get their lives on track back in Brooklyn.

Between Girls, the inexplicably ignored (but wondrously funny and poignant) hospital comedy Getting On, and the second season of The Comeback (in which creators Lisa Kudrow and Michael Patrick King offer some of the most incisive and brutally honest commentaries on women in the film and TV business), HBO offers plenty of reasons to stay indoors this winter.
