Studio Ghibli Doc "The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness" Makes DVD and VOD Debut Today

The first-ever look at the inner workings of Studio Ghibli, the successful Japanese animation studio associated with Hayao Miyazaki, arrives on DVD and VOD today, January 27, from GKIDS in conjunction with Cinedigm. 

Directed by Mami Sunada, The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness provides a fascinating profile of the successful animation center, founded in 1985 by directors Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, and producer Toshio Suzuki. The historic studio has produced some of the world’s most successful films, such as Oscar winner Spirited Away, the highest-grossing Japanese film of all time, Princess Mononoke and Oscar nominee The Wind Rises.

First premiering at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, The Kingdom of Dreams and Madness is available on DVD with bonus material, including The Kingdom According to Ushiko featurette, trailers and English subtitles.
