All too often, a movie poster fails to grab the essence of a film. That cannot be said, however, for the poster for “Pervert Park” which you can check out below, exclusively on Indiewire.
“Pervert Park” examines Florida Justice Transitions — a trailer park that acts as a halfway house of sorts for sex offenders trying to reintegrate into society. The filmmakers followed the residents in attempt to shed a light on the crimes that are often too painful or uncomfortable to discuss and the stigma that comes with them. Although many of their crimes are unspeakable, the film questions what we as a community gain from our willful silence. Regardless of how heartbreaking and difficult it might be, the film ponders whether or not we can curb the cycle and culture of sexual violence by exploring the lives of sex offenders.
“Pervert Park” is playing in the World Cinema Documentary Competition at Sundance this year.
