This Weekend: "FLEISCHER-FEST" Cartoon/Music Marathon In Hollywood

This weekend I’m proud to be the Master-of-Ceremonies of FleischerFest, an all-day celebration of the cartoons of Dave and Max Fleischer. It’s also a tribute to the animators responsible for Koko the Clown, Betty Boop, Popeye, the original Superman cartoons, the sing-along Bouncing Ball cartoons, and much more. Cartoons will be primarily projected on 16mm film (but we’ll have some digital surprises).

The festivities start at 2pm with a marathon of Fleischer Talkartoons, special guests will attend including Max Fleischer’s grandson, Mark Fleischer, who’ll share his memories in an on stage interview with me at 4:30pm. Come dressed as Koko or Betty and you might win a prize.

Chanteuse Janet Klein will sing and introduce the bouncing ball “Screen Songs” at 7pm – and at 8pm entertainer Puddles Pity Party will croon several tunes in between showings of Koko The Clown classics.  Tickets are still available for the Daytime programEvening show and/or all-day passes. This is a Trepany House presentation at the Steve Allen Theatre in Hollywood.
