In recognition of Black History Month, TV One has revealed a lineup of diverse and network original premieres designed to entertain, enlighten and celebrate the Black experience. The slate of programs scheduled throughout February features two awards shows honoring greatness in entertainment and philanthropic endeavors, takes a look back at the Civil Rights era via an original POV, turns the spotlight on divas of R&B, delves into the lives of beloved entertainers and offers a sneak peek look at an all-new comedy premiering on the network this summer.

“46th NAACP Image Awards”
Airs Live on Friday, February 6 at 9 PM/EST
Anthony Anderson returns for the second time as host of the 46th NAACP Image Awards. The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in motion pictures, television, recording and literature, as well as those individuals or groups who promote social justice through their creative endeavors. Winners will be announced during the two-hour, star-studded event which will broadcast Live on Friday, February 6 at 9pm/8c. A one-hour pre-show, hosted by Kevin Frazier and Shaun Robinson will air Live from the red carpet at 8pm/7c.
“Born Again Virgin”
Sneak Peek Airs Friday, February 6 at 11PM/EST
Born Again Virgin is a 30-minute romantic dramedy series set in the fast-paced, heart of the south – Atlanta, exploring the trials of dating experienced by three 30-something best friends. The series follows Jenna, a vlogger who decides to become celibate after a stream of unsuccessful dates and hook-ups leave her wanting more. She decides to document her newly adapted sex-fast and share the hilarious “sexcapades” of her girlfriends – Kelly and Tara. Each week, the ladies will comically work through their friendship, dating woes and career challenges while showcasing many heartfelt moments.

Based on true events and set in Opelika, Alabama, during the summer of 1963, White Water is an imaginative tale of Michael (Amir and Amari O’Neil), a seven-year-old black child who becomes obsessed with the desire to taste water from the “whites only” drinking fountain. Michael sets out on a quest to do the unthinkable: to drink from it. His loving and protective mother, Annie (Sharon Leal), and free-spirited father, Terrance (Larenz Tate), learn of Michael’s obsession with tasting the “white water” and make several attempts to steer him away from this risky adventure. All of Michael’s friends, the local police and the KKK are also against Michael’s mission. His unwavering determination to ignore racial limitations leads him to finally understand the true dangers of his quest. During the film, Michael applies a child’s logic to decipher the conventions of racism but as he quickly matures, he must consider whether the risks involved are worth the reward.

Unsung Hollywood shines a spotlight on groundbreaking artists and entertainers who devoted their lives to making their mark in movies, television, comedy and sports — and in the process, helped to elevate and transform our world. This season provides a behind-the-scenes look at the ground-breaking sitcom A Different World, the storied career of actress Vivica A. Fox, legendary funnyman Redd Foxx, the rise of boundary-breaking comedian Sheryl Underwood, Richard Roundtree’s iconic role as Shaft, and rounds out the season looking back at the cult classic Baby Boy. Highlighting subjects and stories that have never or rarely been told, Unsung Hollywood continues the legacy of the flagship series by being a vehicle to answer questions through in-depth, personal interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, along with revelations from industry associates and loved ones.
“R&B Divas LA”

With continued success as the network’s most-watched series, R&B Divas LA has been picked up for a third season. Each episode will follow the cast of exceptional artists as they balance a series of personal matters while fighting to rise and stay on top of the R&B charts. Cast members Chanté Moore, Lil’ Mo, Michel’le, Chrisette Michele and Leela James reunite as this season introduces the story of two new Divas on the rise: Christina “Brave” Williams andStacy Francis. The group will also show their philanthropic side as they use their musical talents for good by coming together to collaborate on a special charity project. The season will conclude with a two-part reunion special.
“23rd Annual Trumpet Awards”

The Trumpet Awards acknowledges the accomplishments of men and women who have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of life for all.
