“Call for Help” is a feature-length documentary that provides a rare glimpse into the operations of a guerrilla-style NGO, the Global Disaster Immediate Response Team (Global D.I.R.T.), in the aftermath of one of the deadliest disasters in modern history – the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
In this exclusive trailer for “Call for Help,” a ragtag group of Americans take it upon themselves to help suffering Haitians in the most direct way possible: by traveling to Haiti and doing whatever they can.
Lacking substantial funding or celebrity endorsement, these young people were galvanized by the news of the massive earthquake that destroyed much of the country. Now, at the fifth anniversary of the disaster, their story is being told. American altruism and heroism are called into question as even those with the best of intentions begin to ask, “What am I doing here?”
The film will be released in New York on February 6 and available on VOD platforms February 10.
