Many have no doubt given up on Ryan Reynolds following his recent output of critically panned flops. Judging by the trailer for his latest, “The Voices,” it appears there’s a future yet for the Canadian actor.
Directed by Marjane Satrapi (“Persepolis”), “The Voices” stars Reynolds as a shy young man who harbors a big crush on a colleague at work (Gemma Arterton). When he decides to go off his meds, he starts to hear “voices” and all hell breaks loose. The film also stars Anna Kendrick as another love interest.
“The Voices” premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival to strong reviews, with Indiewire calling it “thrilling and hilarious as it is bizarre.” It opens February 6 in select theaters and on video on demand platforms.
