While there was some concern that Cannes’ Best-Actress winning “Maps To The Stars” deserved to be released last fall, there is something particularly fitting about the movie hitting theaters the weekend after the Oscars. Just after Hollywood spends an entire night congratulating themselves, David Cronenberg will be delivering his gleefully caustic take on the industry and everyone in it — there’s a reason it made our 25 Best Films Of 2015 We’ve Already Seen feature. So to get ready, a brand new U.S. trailer and poster for the movie has arrived.
Here’s all the details you probably already know. A pretty great ensemble — Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, John Cusack, Robert Pattinson, and more — star in this one about about the Hollywood Weiss faimly, a TV self-help therapist, and the young woman just out from the psych ward who ties them all together. Taking on youth, celebrity, and the general navel-gazing, self-important vibe of Tinseltown, Cronenberg may not be going full body horror, but the biggest scares this time are in the personalities that power the movies.
“Maps To The Stars” arrives on March 27th. Watch below.
