Gabriel and Daniel Hammond’s Broad Green Pictures has bought out 45% of David Garrett’s U.K.-based sales and distribution firm Mister Smith Entertainment. Per a release issued earlier today, “Mister Smith will have first right to handle the sales and servicing of BGP’s films internationally.” Mister Smith CEO David Garrett will remain in his current position. Moving forward, however, he will be working closely with the Broad Green team on their slate of films.
“There couldn’t be a more perfect fit to represent BGP in the international marketplace,” said Gabriel, who is Broad Green’s CEO.
Launched last year, Broad Green will be releasing its first films later on this year. The company also struck a landmark deal with legendary writer-director Terence Malick, in which they not only acquired the U.S. distribution rights for “Knight of Cups” out of Berlin, but also the U.S. rights to Malick’s next two features.
