NBC remains committed to finding a slot for actor Lance Gross, after the cancellation of “Crisis,” a dramatic thriller series Gross co-starred in for the network last TV season.
NBC has reunited Gross with the director of the “Crisis” pilot – Phillip Noyce – which is said to be a martial arts drama titled “Warrior,” which centers on a woman named Kai Forrester (to be played by Natalie Martinez), who works undercover with physical and spiritual guidance from a mysterious martial arts master to bring down the organized crime syndicate known as YOMI.
Gross has signed up to play an Agent Golden, who is an Interpol agent and former Navy SEAL who works with Kai as they infiltrate the syndicate.
Joining Gross and Martinez will be Andy Allo, the Cameroonian-born musician, model, and actress, who will play the daughter of YOMI’s New York boss.
The project is written and executive produced by David DiGilio, and exec produced by Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald.
If NBC digs the pilot, it’ll order it to series, likely for the 2015/2016 TV season.
