The winning filmmaker will receive a digital distribution consultation from SnagFilms and will become a candidate for the February Project of the Month. That winner will be awarded with a creative consultation from the fine folks at the Tribeca Film Institute and will be in the running for Project of the Year.
The four projects up for this week’s Project of the Week are listed below (with descriptions courtesy of the filmmakers):
52: The Search for the Loneliest Whale: The film will explore how one incredible whale’s experience of profound solitude has made us all more connected to the ocean.
The Skinny: A dark comedy about a fiesty feminist YouTuber living and loving in LA while trying to get over her bulimia.
Sibs: After the sudden death of her father, Sophie has to decide whether or not she will become her teenage half-brother, Alister’s, guardian.
The Pregnancy Exclusion: “The Pregnancy Exclusion” examines the case of Marlise Muñoz, a brain-dead pregnant woman whose family was forced to keep her on life support against her wishes. The film shows the human story behind the headlines, and shines a light on a controversial law.
