It has been three years since Judd Apatow‘s middle age dramedy “This Is 40,” and he’s mostly been busy since, working his producer muscles on “Girls,” “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” and “Begin Again.” But he’s back in feature length form with “Trainwreck,” his big summer comedy, and the first trailer for the movie has arrived today.
Amy Schumer (who also wrote the film) and Bill Hader lead the effort, about which plot details have mostly been kept under wraps, but will reportedly center on a woman trying to rebuild her life, with a boyfriend, parent and best friend all in the mix of characters she’s dealing with. And the ensemble for this one is huge, with LeBron James, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, Vanessa Bayer, Ezra Miller, John Cena, Barkhad Abdi, Mike Birbiglia, Jon Glaser, Daniel Radcliffe, Marisa Tomei, Amar‘e Stoudemire, and more slated to make appearances. Too much of a good thing, or will it all come together?
Audiences will get their first taste next month at a “work-in-progress” screening at SXSW. “Trainwreck” opens on July 17th. Green band and red band trailers below.
