This weekend, Samuel L. Jackson wears a baseball cap sideways and unfolds some evil schemes in “Kingsman: The Secret Service.” In “Big Game,” he fights for his life wearing a finely tailored suit. However the real hero of the story is just a kid, as they both try to survive in the Finnish mountains. A new trailer for the film has arrived today.
Directed by Jalmari Helander (“Rare Exports“) and featuring Jim Broadbent, Ray Stevenson, and Felicity Huffman, this constantly eye-winking picture is a pure B-movie. The film follows the President of the United States who gets shot out of the sky as part of an elaborate kidnapping scheme, and is forced to rely on a plucky 13-year-old boy who is out in the woods in the midst of a manly rite of passage. It’s all kinds of ridiculous, and the movie knows it, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it works.
“Big Game” opens in the U.K. on May 8th. No U.S. date yet. [Empire]
