All those hours spent practicing your Oscar acceptance
speech in the car, the shower, before bed is no longer a waste of precious time
and energy. That is, of course, if you’re still in school.

The Student Academy Awards announced their competition
deadline for 2015. Submit your hard work by June 1 to have a chance at a big
date with Oscar come February.

The Academy established the Student Academy Awards in 1972. Past Student Academy Award winners have gone on to receive 46 Oscar nominations and have won or shared eight awards. They include John Lasseter, Pete Docter, Robert Zemeckis, Trey Parker and Spike Lee. Not bad company to keep!

Keep in mind that entries must be submitted within one year of
graduation and been produced between April 1, 2014 and June 1, 2015. Read through
the rest of the regulations here and get filming, kids. Those acceptance
speeches aren’t going to get played off by themselves.
