Ciara Renée primarily a stage actress, who appeared on Broadway in “Pippin” and “Big Fish,” while also making a mark in the workshop productions of “Hamilton,” “Three Little Pigs,” and “Bull Durham,” in addition to several regional credits, has been cast in the CW’s proposed “Arrow”/”Flash” spin-off series, playing Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl, which is a lead role.
Quite a quick climb for the young actress, who only just graduated from University in May 2013, from Baldwin Wallace, with a Musical Theater degree.
The spinoff project featuring characters from both “Arrow” and “The Flash” will star Brandon Routh (as Ray/The Atom) and Caity Lotz (formerly Sara/Canary), as well as The Flash‘s Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold) and Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein aka half of Firestorm).
Ciara Renée’s Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders character is described as, “a young woman who is just beginning to learn that she has been repeatedly reincarnated over the centuries. When provoked, her ancient warrior persona manifests itself, along with wings that grow out of her back, earning her the moniker Hawkgirl.”
The yet-to-be-titled spin-off series hails from “Arrow ” and “The Flash” creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim.
There are still more roles to be cast in the spin-off series.
The news of Ciara Renée’s casting was first reported by Deadline.
