Exclusive: Get Inside Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Head In Clip From 'Faults'

When it comes to being part of a cult, the process of brainwashing followers involves more than just taking advantage of the weak-willed. It involves manipulating emotional and spiritual needs, cutting ties to the past, and creating an illusion that there is no surviving without the cult. Trying to free someone from the grip of a cult is often monumentally difficult, but one man gives it a shot in the terrific “Faults.” Today we have an exclusive clip from the film.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead gives what we called a “commanding performance” in the Riley Stearns directed film about a washed up expert on mind control (played by Leland Orser) who is hired to deprogram a young woman (Winstead) by her desperate parents. What follows a tense and sometimes surprisingly funny movie that gets deep into the power dynamics that unfold between between the pair. In the scene below, you can get a sense of the resistance Winstead’s character puts up from the start.

“Faults” arrives on March 6th. Watch below.
