In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.
Tweetable Logline: Two underage slackers steal a cooler hoping to score some booze, but instead wind up with two human kidneys in this dark comedy film.
Elevator Pitch: “Camino” is a dark comedy film about two underage slackers (one of which has just found out he might be a father soon) who steal a cooler in hopes of finding booze but end up finding two human kidneys inside. The film follows the aforementioned slackers, the two hardened criminals trying to track down their stolen cooler of kidneys and a group of law enforcement officers following the bizarre trail of violent crimes left in the wake of the criminal’s search.
Director: Justin Herring
Director of Photography: Russell Blair
Screenwriter: John Hughes (not that one)
About the Film: I was in a screenwriting class with John and he pitched the idea for the movie and I thought, that is fantastic and hilarious, I would love to make that movie. I’m a graduate film student and our program requires us to make a feature length film (that we fund ourselves) as our thesis (making a feature film was always my ultimate dream and the reason I chose this program) and when it came time to start considering what movie I wanted to make most, I thought about John’s script, “Camino.”
Current Status: Fundraising (so we can afford to pay actors and bring them in from out of town) and Pre-Production.
