The winning filmmaker will receive a digital distribution consultation from SnagFilms and will become a candidate for the March Project of the Month. That winner will be awarded with a creative consultation from the fine folks at the Tribeca Film Institute and will be in the running for Project of the Year.
The four projects up for this week’s Project of the Week are listed below (with descriptions courtesy of the filmmakers):
Cecil: A family comedy set in 1996 about a boy who can’t pronounce his name due to a lisp. He needs a new one. The choice… Michael Jordan!
Superpowerless: “Superpowerless” is a coming-of-middle-age story about a superhero who loses his powers after turning 40 and who must adjust to a new life. Why should teenagers have all the angst?
The Pamoja Project: We’ve all seen the facts that prove women are the solution to global poverty. Now it’s time to hear their stories.
Zunn: Showgirls of Pakistan: This feature documentary delves into the lives of Pakistani showgirls, a world of stars, sex trafficking and raunchy punjabi music and dance.
