Arnold Schwarzenegger is taking a break from the action-hero role… sort of. He’ll still do whatever it takes to get the job done, only this time, the job is a little different.
Set to debut at the Tribeca Film Festival later this month, “Maggie” takes place in the midst of a zombie virus epidemic. Schwarzenegger stars as the loving father to a young girl, played by Abigail Breslin, who ends up becoming infected by the deadly virus.
For Schwarzenegger, “Maggie” marks a notable departure from his trademark brand of the adrenaline-fueled action hero. Ironically enough, here, he is a bit more human in a world being populated by the not-so-human.
Following its Tribeca premiere, Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions will release “Maggie” in theaters May 8. Check out the exclusive poster above.
