Kino Lorber has announced the acquisition of all U.S. and Canadian rights to “The Kindergarten Teacher.”
The film is Israeli director Nadav Lapid’s follow-up to the Locarno Prize winning “Policeman.” The story follows a teacher in Tel Aviv who becomes obsessed with a five-year-old child prodigy.
“Nadav’s new film radiates originality,” said Kino Lobber CEO Richard Lorber. “This rare film unfolds as though a dream but with consequences that are profoundly real. We’re thrilled to bring Nadav Lapid’s latest cinematic triumph to North American audiences.”
“The Kindergarten Teacher” is scheduled to open on July 31, at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York City, before a national expansion in August and September.
