Many have tried, and they’ve all failed! But it shouldn’t be a surprise that Chadwick Boseman has been tight-lipped about Marvel’s upcoming introduction of Black Panther (to be played by Boseman) into the Marvel cinematic universe. In just about every interview I’ve watched him give since it was announced that he’d landed the role last year, the interviewers push and push, hoping that he’d maybe slip, and reveal something that he probably shouldn’t. But the man has it all under control. I’m sure Marvel workshops each of its talents on how not to accidentally give up the goods.
But this is maybe the most I’ve heard Boseman talk about the character, and his preparation for it. Typically, he says absolutely nothing, refusing to talk about it at all – with a smile on his face of course. He’s probably sick of being asked about it, I’m sure, and likely shuns any situations in which he might be. He may even want to really talk about it, but obviously can’t.
I just find the dance rather humorous.
In the below interview he gave to MTV while on the red carpet for the premiere of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” which opens next month, Boseman gives in a tiny, little, wee bit, and shares some of his preparation for the role. You can almost feel the interviewer trying to find a back-door into some revelation, catching Boseman off-guard. But nada…
He’s also asked about the recent rumor that Ernie Hudson had been cast to play his father in the Black Panter movie, T’Chaka.
It’s too bad that we have to wait 3 long years before the movie is released. It feels like an eternity.
