based filmmaker Maurice Dortch has just completed his latest short film which he
calls a “nostalgic piece” entitled “For the Record”.
Directed by Dortch,
who also wrote the screenplay with NK Gutiérrez, the film stars Corey DeMon,
Natasha Forouzannia, and David A. Leonard and deals with, in the filmmaker’s
words, “a demure record store clerk wants to overcome his apprehensive behavior
win over the heart of his favorite customer or risk losing out on a chance at love”.
Asked why he
wanted to make the film Dortsch said that he “wrote this film because of
“love,” my love for my girlfriend and my love for meaningful music,
when people took time to actual write lyrics that inspired love and just good-natured fun”.
And he adds
the Record” helped me remember what it was like sitting next to the radio,
pressing record when your favorite song came on so you could create mix tapes
for that special girl and let her know how you feel. And that’s why I started this film off with
my dedication to my girl”..
