The Made in NY Media Center by IFP will hold its third
“Demo Day” program today, Wednesday, May 6 from 4-6pm. The event will provide six startup teams the chance to present their
projects to a select group of panelists in media and technology including Jed
Weinthrob, VP/Head of Production at Condé Nast Entertainment, and Liz Wald, VP
of Technology and Design at Indiegogo. The presentations will be moderated by
Marc Schiller, founder and CEO of BOND Strategy and Influence.

Four of the startup teams are Media Center incubator projects, while two guest teams are outside projects who have been invited to pitch along side them. Each team prepared for their “Demo Day” presentations by
utilizing a training program offered by the Media Center, wherein teams are
paired with entrepreneurial mentors as well as an “Art of the Pitch”
expert for three months leading up to the presentation. Mentor pairs assist in
helping to develop optimal business strategies, market positioning, and brand
“Demo Day” presentations are offered to an invite-only
audience, but all Media Center members are encouraged to attend the
“Marketplace,” a trade show where participant teams will have the
opportunity to mingle with potential collaborators and investors.

kMusicBox – Matt Watkajtys
kMusicBox is a discovery venture for
truly talented, unsigned musicians. It is an experience venture as well,
bringing music back to the physical world by bundling digital album downloads
with stellar artwork and a 12″ vinyl compilation.
Pionear – Sam Baumel
Pionear lets anyone record audio and tag
it to a location for others to find, follow and repost. It’s an instrument for
creating custom audio tours, site-specific stories and geographically triggered
music albums. Pionear is a hands free, heads up experience that will change how
we hear the world.
Storied Myth – Kabir Seth
Storied Myth is a subscription service
that utilizes immersive augmented reality experiences to seamlessly connect
e-books with real world “puzzles” subscribers receive in the mail.
Storied Myth’s ongoing digital adventure story is accompanied by offline
puzzles and activities that are delivered to the reader’s home monthly.
