'Mean Girls' Spinoff 'Mean Moms' Is Officially Back On, But...

“Mean Moms” is a go at New Line, finally. After originally being slated for release today with Jennifer Aniston attached to star, the film is apparently back on. Aniston is still attached and her “Horrible Bosses 2” director Sean Anders at the helm, and its synopsis reads promising enough:

A happily married mother of two moves from small town America to the high class suburbs and is faced with confronting the cut throat world of competitive parenting.”

The film will work as a loose adaptation of  Rosalind Wiseman’s self-help book “Queen Bee Moms And King Pin Dads: Dealing With The Parents, Teachers, Coaches, And Counselors Who Can Make — or Break — Your Child’s Future.” Tina Fey based “Mean Girls” on Wiseman’s book “Queen Bees And Wannabes,” so the films share that in common. But we’re a little concerned beyond that… Fey won’t be back, with Sean Anders and John Morris adapting. Their previous collaborations include “We’re The Millers,” “Dumb and Dumber To,” and “Hot Tub Time Machine,” which doesn’t exactly scream Tina Fey level writing to us…
