Image Entertainment has acquired the North American distribution rights to Jackie Early Haley’s new film “Criminal Activities.” The deal was announced by parent company RLJ’s CEO of Image Brands, Mark Ward, who called the film, “A smart, witty extremely commercial thriller with elements of ‘Boiler Room’ and ‘Reservoir Dogs’ and an ending you don’t see coming.”
From the official synopsis: “‘Criminal Activities’ tells the story of four young men who, while acting on an inside tip, invest in a ‘sure thing’ only to discover the deal going south which putting them in trouble with the mob.”
Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley (“Little Children,” “Watchmen”) directs and stars in the film, which was written by Robert Lowell. John Travolta (“Pulp Fiction”), Dan Stevens (“Downton Abbey”), Michael Pitt (“Boardwalk Empire”), Christopher Abbott (“Girls”), Rob Brown (“Coach Carter”) and Edi Gathegi (“X-Men: First Class”) also star.
“Criminal Activities” will have its theatrical release in Fall 2015.
