Fantastic Tig Notaro Doc 'Tig' Coming To Netflix July 17th

A few weeks after it opens Outfest, Kristina Goolsby and Ashley York’s lovely doc “Tig” will be heading to Netflix. The streaming service will debut the film on July 17th, and it’s well worth queuing up.

The film as per Netflix’s description:

“Good evening. Hello. I have cancer.” Comedian Tig Notaro used those words to open her stand-up set at Largo in Los Angeles in August 2012. Defiantly funny in the face of devastating news, Tig’s now legendary performance came at the end of a tumultuous four-month period that included both the loss of her mother and her subsequent breast cancer diagnosis. “Tig” is about how she found herself on that stage in that moment, and what happened next. Intimate, funny and illuminating, the film offers a revealing look at how Tig put her life together just at the moment it all seemed to fall apart. Proving that laughter may very well be the best medicine, the film is an unflinching look at a woman determined to find humor, life and love in the places we all fear the most.
We saw the film when it premiered at Hot Docs back in April, and can definitely attest that all of the above is very much the case.
