Laverne Cox To Become First Trans Person At Madame Tussauds' Wax Museum

On June 26th, Laverne Cox will make history yet again when she becomes the first  trans person ever immortalized at the iconic Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The San Francisco location will unveil Cox’s wax figure to kick off SF’s Gay Pride.

Cox told  Entertainment Weekly how excited she is about the occasion:

I am so deeply honored to have been asked to be part of the Madame Tussauds legacy.

When I think about being who I am, a black trans woman from a working class background raised in Mobile, Alabama, this honor feels even more improbable and extraordinary.

I hope that this will be a source of inspiration for everyone who encounters it to believe that their dreams matter and are possible.

We love you, Laverne!
